Octaviolet has a good overpriced hostel if that is what you prefer? well if you want something nicer like a Hotel I suggest the Estherea Hotel is in the center however AMsterdam has some rising hotel prices this one should cost around 122.00 USD per night for two people, In high season. If you go in May or April it will be colder but there will be cheaper hotels. Last time I went I stayed that he golden tulip right in Dam Square (central) and it was 70 euro per night, now its twice that price. If that is too much for you try looking on hostelworld.com, you may be able to get a double room for cheaper, however the bed wont be nice like a hotel.
